Surfing Right On Into Second!

 Welcome to Miss Sands' second grade class! We have 22 friends who are all excited to love, learn, lead, and grow together and individually this school year!

So far this year, we have been working hard to practice expectations and procedures while getting our thinking caps back on after our long summer vacation.

This is our Morning Meeting reminder. Each morning, a different student leads our class in a Morning Meeting!

We even worked together to come up with a Class Mission Statement! Stay tuned for the final product...

We've discussed what makes us special and unique, our goals personally and academically this school year, and even demonstrated our math facts while sharing information with others about ourselves!

 

We've started writing all about ourselves and will begin our Personal Narrative writing unit this week where we can focus on Small Moments to share. We brainstormed a list together of "Writing Seeds" we can plant and grow into bigger pieces of writing anytime we have writers' block, too.

  Our team passed it on to administration (who bravely accepted!) who then passed it on to our school's related arts team (who also accepted!). Go Eagles!
